This month Prof. Alex teaches a series of submissions for when your opponent is in the turtle position.

Step 1

Alex is attacking his opponent who is defending in the "turtle" position. His right knee is blocking his opponents right knee and his Right hand hooks the opponents far hip (detail shown in second photo here)

Step 2

Alex replaces his right knee with his left knee.

Step 3

Alex sits back creating a space for his opponent to fall into.

Step 4

With the opponents left side dominated, he is forced to fall to his back allowing Alex to hook his left leg. At this time Alexs hand that was hooking the hip moves to the opponents lapel.

Step 5 - Opponent Reaction #1

The opponent reacts by trying to slide his back to the mat. Alexs right hand feeds the lapel to his left hand and right hand then hooks the arm.

Step 6 - Opponent Reaction #1

Alex comes to his knees

Step 7 - Opponent Reaction #1

Finish Option #1 - Alexs finishes by strangling his opponent with a lapel half nelson choke

Step 8 - Opponent Reaction #1

Finish Option #2 - Alex also has the option here for an even more powerful choke by bringing his knee behind the opponent allowing him to use the power of his entire body to drive the choke.

Step 9 - Opponent Reaction #2

Following from step 4, the opponent instead removes Alexs left hook and turns to his knees.

Step 10 - Opponent Reaction #2

Alexs follows his opponent to his knees and finishes with the clock choke a.k.a "Relogio"
